Thesis Statement:Gender-based inequities in sports have been negatively influenced by social norms causing sexism to be pervasive throughout the sports industry. There is a long way to go before justice is balanced within the sports community in regards to the ideologies surrounding sexualization, and the labels one must follow.

Action Project Description:
My action project was to begin the Girl’s Skate Night again under a different name, Women on Wheels. The mission for the revised Women on Wheel’s is to create a supportive and welcoming environment for female and non-binary skaters. and worked in collaboration with The Hive to host a kick off event. The kick off event included live music, relay races, and a surprise give away consisting of gift cards for a local skate shop.
